Insurance & Protection

Insurance and protection that actually fits your life

Hospitalisation, critical illness, life and personal accident cover for individuals and families in Singapore, matched to what you actually need and what you can actually afford. Nothing sold because it pays a bigger commission.

What's covered

The building blocks of a protection plan

Integrated Shield Plans (hospitalisation)

Sits on top of MediShield Life to cover a higher ward class and larger hospital bills, including surgery and specialist treatment. This is usually the first thing to get right, since a serious hospital stay is the bill most households can't absorb out of pocket.

Critical illness insurance

A lump sum paid out on diagnosis of a covered condition such as cancer, heart attack or stroke. Unlike hospitalisation cover, this money goes to you, not the hospital, so it can cover lost income, a career break, or costs a hospitalisation plan was never meant to touch.

Term life insurance

Coverage for a fixed period, built to be affordable while your responsibilities, like a mortgage or young children, are at their highest. If something happens to you during the term, your beneficiary receives the payout.

Whole life insurance

Lifetime coverage that includes a death benefit and a cash value component that builds over time. Costs more than term for the same sum assured, but the cover doesn't expire and the policy itself can become an asset.

Personal accident insurance

Covers injury, disability or death from accidents, including costs like mobility aids, TCM treatment, and a defined list of infectious diseases. A useful, low-cost layer on top of your main hospitalisation and life cover.

Maternity insurance

Covers costs tied to pregnancy, childbirth and post-natal care, for both mother and newborn. Worth arranging early, since most plans need to be in place before certain complications can arise.

Common questions

Insurance, answered plainly

What's the difference between MediShield Life and an Integrated Shield Plan?

MediShield Life is Singapore's basic, government-run hospitalisation insurance and every citizen and PR is automatically covered. An Integrated Shield Plan (IP) is a private insurer's plan that sits on top of it, usually for a higher class of ward and higher claim limits. Most working adults in Singapore carry both.

Do I need critical illness cover if I already have hospitalisation insurance?

They do different jobs. Hospitalisation insurance pays the hospital and doctors directly. Critical illness cover pays you a lump sum you can use however you need to, rent, groceries, a career break to recover, which hospitalisation insurance was never designed to do.

I already have a few policies from years ago. Is it worth a review?

Usually, yes. Cover bought years ago often has gaps, or overlaps you're quietly paying twice for. A review costs nothing and you're not obliged to change anything.
